Even legends can't get away with inappropriate behavior.
Prior to the Lambo story being released, Jags quarterback Trevor Lawrence said the drama surrounding the team needed to stop.
Many thought Meyer was the reason for most of the drama.
Meyer had retired from coaching college football in 2019, but came out of retirement this season to coach the Jaguars, his first NFL team.
The Jags are 2-11 under Meyer. Had they been winning, things might have been different.
Legendary college football coach Urban Meyer has been booted from his job with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars after just 13 games.
The firing came just hours after reports surfaced of Meyer kicking former Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo during a practice back in August. There were also reports of Meyer being verbally abusive to players.
Jaguars owner Shad Khan said in a statement, "After deliberation over many weeks and a thorough analysis of the entirety of Urban’s tenure with our team, I am bitterly disappointed to arrive at the conclusion that an immediate change is imperative for everyone. I informed Urban of the change this evening. As I stated in October, regaining our trust and respect was essential. Regrettably, it did not happen.” (NBC Sports)
