Things are changing for the teens here in the city. Have you noticed we're always waking up to hear about teens being shot overnight? It is always sad to hear and it makes you wonder why the kids are even out so late. Well the curfew for teens in Philly has been updated to keep the kids out of trouble and off the streets. For the summer, children and teens in will be under a new summer curfew that kicked off on Thursday, according to NBC 10. So if you're wondering what's different or what's been modified, under thew new rules, 16-17-year-olds must be off the streets by 10 p.m.. The curfew for that age group was midnight. Children 14 and 15 already had a 10 p.m. curfew, but 13 and under must be in by 9:30 p.m. These are the set times unless the teens are working. When the curfew starts, they have to stay off the streets until 6 a.m. the following day. However, there will be no fines for those who violate the curfew. The curfew will be in effect until Sept. 29.
