- DJ Self dished on Cardi B recently.
- Self stopped by Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast recently, where he was asked whether Cardi B ever thanked him. Self explains that he approached Cardi to join the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ cast, but she initially turned him down.
- However, things eventually worked out, and the rapper joined the cast. But he stops short of taking credit for discovering her. “When you use that word discover, that’s a strong word with discover,” Self says. “You can’t discover something that is there. I put the magnifying glass on her.”
- When asked if Cardi has ever thanked him, Self tells the hosts that she has never thanked him. “But, in the same sentence, I may not have done anything for her music career. I put her on television, I didn’t put her in a record deal.”
