Malcolm Jenkins Gets Emotional Over Drew Brees' Comments, Brees Apologizes

People are frustrated and tired of the social injustices. People are currently protesting about it after George Floyd's death. People not of color are supporting black people in the protests, as well as celebrities. But then you have some celebrities who are speaking out, who are not helping the cause. New Orleans Saints quarterback, Drew Brees, was asked about how he felt is players took a knee during the football season for social injustice. His response is causing a lot of backlash. Back in 2016, he said it was disrespectful to kneel during the national anthem. Well, he still sticks to that. Yahoo Finance did an interview with Drew where he said, "I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country." So you know where he stands. Meanwhile, members on his on team don't agree and are hurt from what he said. Malcolm Jenkins posted a very emotional video. In the caption, he made mention that he did speak with Drew over the issue but still felt compelled to post the video. Malcolm said, "As I was trying to muster up the energy and find the words to address Drew Brees’s comments I recorded this video. Before I could post it, Drew reached out to me to discuss his point of view. All in all, I’m still posting this video because it’s important for anyone who wants to consider themself an ally to know how these words and actions affect those who you want to help. Drew’s words during his interview were extremely painful to hear and I hope he rectifies them with real action." After Drew's comments during such a time, how do you now view him as a celebrity athlete?
