Sick: Man Cut's His Father's Head Off And Posts Selfies On Facebook
I don't understand how someone could be this evil to their own parent.
A Chicago man is facing first degree murder after he mutilated his father and posted pictures of the crime on Facebook.
Carlton Edmondson, 26, was arrested Saturday on charges of first-degree murder and violation of an order of protection. He is accused of killing and dismembering his father, Carl Edmondson, 61, of the 11500 block of South Bishop Street in the West Pullman neighborhood.
The victim’s brother attempted to contact Carl Edmondson on Saturday, calling him and stopping by his house, but had not been able to reach him, according to officials. While at Carl Edmondson’s house, he noticed his nephew, Carlton Edmondson, inside through a window, authorities said.
The victim’s brother knew his nephew previously had been ordered not to contact his father so he contacted the police. When authorities arrived, Carlton Edmondson answered the door and said his father was at the hospital.
Officers then entered the house and found Carl Edmondson’s body at the bottom of the basement stairs. His head had been smashed in, with blood and brain matter strewn on the floor and walls. The victim’s penis had been severed and police located a piece of it in the basement, according to a statement read in court. Carl Edmondson also suffered deep lacerations to his lower body.
His body also emitted a stench of gasoline, police said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the medical examiner’s office later said he died from blunt force injuries.
Posted on Carlton Edmondson’s Facebook page that day was an image of a hand touching what appeared to be the victim’s battered skull. The photo was captioned, “Yo bAudie is mA party #babhyhh.” The image has since been taken down; the Tribune captured screenshots of the post earlier this week.
Carl Edmondson had sought an order of protection against his son on Oct. 4, effective until the same date in 2019. It was granted on that date, but court records state it wasn’t immediately served. -(Marissa Page, Chicago Tribune)
Rest in peace.
