Always to Remove Female Symbol From Product Packaging

In a world when everyone wants to be acknowledge, a lot of companies are making changes. Always has decided to change it's sanitary pads packaging. According to NBC News, the Proctor and Gamble company will remove the Venus symbol, which represents the female sex. Transgender activists urged the company to redesign the pad wrapper. A part of their argument was that not all people who menstruate are women and not all women menstruate. The Always company said it would make that change to be inclusive and diverse. The company said, "For over 35 years, Always has championed girls and women, and we will continue to do so. We’re also committed to diversity and inclusion and are on a continual journey to understand the needs of all of our consumers." However, the redesign will most likely happen in February 2020. But it also makes you think, does it matter if they remove the symbol or not? To be honest, I don't think I ever noticed the symbol. This is just my opinion, but will a symbol make a difference in some of the products you use? I definitely don't pay that attention. In today's world, use what you want to use, but is the "symbol" the thing that will deter you from getting it? With everything else that is going on in the world, a pad is my least worry.
