- His August sentence is still more than a month away. Ronda Renee Dixon, an attorney, submitted a motion on July 12 to take over the rapper's legal representation. Dixon claims that Tory is being subjected to cruel and unusual treatment in prison.
- Dixon stated, "His eyes were black. He was totally despondent. He told me he wanted to go to state prison. I said, 'You want to go to state prison? Why?' He said, 'At least I’ll be able to go out in the yard and talk to people.'"
- Dixon continued, "Merely because he is well known, the Sheriff has decided that Mr. Peterson is of such great threat that he must be confined in the same manner as those convicted of serial rape charges and murder."
- A judge finally turned down Dixon's motion to replace Tory's legal team.
