Tekashi 6ix9ine is in dire straights financially. The revelation was made last week at a court hearing. The rapper explained that the way his accounts and cash flow are set up, he’s not in a position to pay anyone large amounts of money. 6ix9ine said, “Right now, I am struggling to make ends meet. I do not know if I will ever command the kind of advances I was paid before my arrest and my career stalled.” He went into detail on his finances, explaining, “I did receive large advances under the recording artist and merchandising agreements prior to my arrest… However, I do not receive any royalties under those agreements, either, since my royalty accounts remain unrecouped.” Tekashi’s bottom line? He’s far from flush with cash, and if the court orders him to write a big check, he says, “it will surely bankrupt me in a way from which I will never recover to the permanent detriment and hardship of the family members who rely upon me.” (Complex)
