Do you remember when people started using the hashtag, #OscarsSoWhite, where it became very noticeable that people of color weren't being nominated or winning, or even working with the organization? Man, that hit hard to the point, people are taking notice of a lot of organizations with these awards shows. According to Variety, NBC doesn't plan on airing the Golden Globes in 2022 because of controversial issues with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which is the nonprofit organization responsible for the awards. Ties have been temporarily cut after controversy surrounding the HFPA's lack of diversity and ethical questions related to financial benefits given to some members were called into question. And it's bad because a lot of major players in the awards space, including Netflix, Amazon and WarnerMedia, said they were all boycotting the Globes until HFPA assured some real change, that including people of color to represent the organization.
