Around this time last year when the pandemic first hit, it was hard to find essential items on the shelves. From toilet tissue to diapers, people cleared them out. We still don't understand why people went crazy thinking they needed to buy out all of the toilet tissue. Well now, prices on some brands will be going up in June. According to NBC News, the second-largest toilet paper manufacturer in the U.S., Kimberly-Clark, released a statement saying the increases "are necessary to help offset significant commodity cost inflation," reflecting higher supply costs. So what's going up? Well the price change will affect baby and child care products, some adult care products and bathroom tissue. So if you were one of the people who just bought things and didn't pay attention to the brands, here are some of them. Price will increase on Cottonelle and Viva, Kleenex, Kotex hygiene products and Huggies diapers. But here is the thing, Kimberly-Clark said it will increase list prices, which are the prices paid to suppliers of a product. Retailers decide what to charge consumers at the store level. So it's more like, get upset at the retailers if they make up crazy prices.
