I grew up on horror movies, but I appreciate them even more when they are done by black writers, directors and producers. Of course we had the movie "Get Out" and it seems like since then, we've had a nice wave of horror/thriller-influenced movies and even series. Well, get ready for a new series called "Them" that is headed to Amazon on April 9. Yes, get ready because it will deal with the horror of racism and dark magic. By the way, Lena Waite is one of the executive producers on the series. The anthology series is about a black family that moves into an all-white neighborhood in North Carolina in the 1950's. If you liked "Get Out" and a fan of "Lovecraft Country," think of it as a mixture of all of it. Are you tuning in for this? Check out the trailer in the meantime.
