Vanessa Bryant is now speaking out about that Meek Mill rap that leaked recently, that had a verse about Kobe and his accident.
In the verse, Meek raps: “This b--- I’m f—in’ always tell me that she love but she ain’t ever showed me. Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m going out with my chopper, it be another Kobe.”
Vanessa responded Monday on her Instagram story (see below), writing, “Dear @meekmill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period. I am not familiar with any of your music, but I Believe you can do better than this. If you are a fan, fine, there’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact.”
Meek initially appeared to respond on Twitter, saying, “—— your feelings. I don’t think we on the same signal y’all… I don’t see what y’all see.”
He then clarified that those tweets were not meant for Vanessa Bryant and her family, with another tweet, saying, “I apologized to her in private earlier today not to the public… Nothing I say on my page directed to a internet viral moment or the family of a grieving woman! If you care about someone grieving, change the subject!”
Meek’s song, which was a collab with Lil Baby, leaked last week, but it’s not clear who leaked it. It has now been deleted from most of social media and YouTube. Meek had initially suggested the lyrics had been misinterpreted, writing, “Somebody promo a narrative and y’all follow it… y’all internet antics cannot stop me. They paying to influence y’all now… it’s almost like mind control ‘wake up’.
