Many people are ready for this pandemic to end and now that the vaccine is available, there are people making appointments to get their doses. After the chaos the organization, Philly Fighting Covid, it left a lot of people trying to figure out where they could get doses or even their second one. Big kudos to the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium because they held a mass vaccine, vaxathon for 24 hours this past Friday and Saturday. Well now, there are more new mass vaccine sites that are opening in Philly for eligible residents. The plan is to vaccinate at least 500 people at each location, according to Philadelphian Tribune. People will still have to make an appointment to get their doses, but it will be by invitation. The sites are located at the Community Academy of Philadelphia Charter School in Harrowgate, the Martin Luther King Older Adult Center in North Philadelphia, and the University of the Sciences in West Philadelphia and they will be open 2 days a week. Invitations to schedule appointments will be sent out via email, initially going to highest-priority residents in Phase 1B who’ve already signed up via Philly’s vaccine interest form, according to Health Commissioner Tom Farley.
