One thing about Spike Lee is that when he has his actors, he keeps his actors working. One of his regular actors is Thomas Jefferson Byrd. You have seen him in countless Spike movies. But over the weekend, some sad news came in about the actor. According to TMZ, Thomas was murdered on Saturday in Atlanta. He died at age 70. Atlanta PD say cops responded to a call of a person injured at 1:45 AM Saturday. Thomas was found unresponsive, and emergency medical workers pronounced him dead from multiple gunshot wounds to the back. Of course this was a shock and even Spike posted about it on his Instagram as he remembered his dear friend. Spike posted a photo of Thomas from a scene from Clockers and captioned, "I’m So Sad To Announce The Tragic Murder Of Our Beloved Brother Thomas Jefferson Byrd Last Night In Atlanta,Georgia. Tom Is My Guy,Here Below You See Him As The Frightening Character Errol Barnes In CLOCKERS." Spike continued to post multiple characters Thomas has played in his films. Thomas' death is being investigated by homicide detectives.
