I am one of those people who will be quick to say leave classic movies alone. The Color Purple is definitely a classic but it seems like we will get a musical version of that movie. Now, if you are a fan of The Color Purple, then you may have read the book, seen the movie or even hit up Broadway for a show. But get ready for a musical on the big screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg and Quincy Jones are teaming together to bring us an adaptation of the movie as a musical for film and Warner Bros. is on board as well. On top of this team to direct, they've also tapped into "Black is King" director, Blitz Bazawule will lead as the director. So far, there hasn't been anyone cast for the movie, but we are definitely curious as to who will make the cut.
