Basketball Player Suspended After Drug Test Says He's Pregnant

News is coming out this week on just why a basketball player was suspended from the FIBA (International Basketball Federation) in 2018. Former Ohio University player D.J. Cooper was suspended for two years because his drug test came back... positive for pregnancy.

He was looking to join the Bosnian national team in 2018, and his drug test came back testing positive for "human chorionic gonadotropin", which is a hormone produced by the placenta in women who are pregnant.

Cooper's girlfriend was pregnant at the time, so he tried to game the system by using her urine. The suspension isn't up until 2020, so he's ineligible to play internationally until that time.
