Usher is accused of refusing to turn over his private medical records to the man who accused the singer of allegedly exposing him to herpes after he claims they had sex at a Los Angeles spa.
Quantasia Sharpton – along with a Jane Doe and John Doe – sued Usher last year claiming they all had sexual relations with him. They all say he risked their health by not telling him about his alleged diagnosis and are seeking unspecified damages.
John Doe claimed he had sex with Usher at a Koreatown spa in Los Angeles and he recently filed docs in the case accusing Usher of refusing to turn over key evidence in the case.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Doe filed a motion asking the judge to order the singer to turn over the documents/information. Doe is after Usher’s confidential medical history and possible settlements in the past.
Doe says Usher has not only refused to turn over documents but tried to invoke attorney-client privilege and physician-patient privilege in his effort to not hand over the records.
The singer has accused Doe of trying to harass him with the demands and has refused to answer his numerous questions.
Doe is also seeking a protective order over Usher’s medical records saying that the public dissemination of his medical history would invade his privacy and cause embarrassment and distress to him. He says specifically the medical info he has obtained thus far from Usher, during discovery in the lawsuit, could result in ridicule and possibly harassment of the singer if released.
A judge has yet to rule.
