Philly’s Power 99 is celebrating Black History Month by shouting out some of our favorite sons and daughters throughout the month of February with The Power List. Some of the biggest names in the world of music, entertainment, politics and the arts that hail from Philly or the surrounding Tri-State area.

Born in North Philadelphia in 1995, Tierra Whack is a singer, songwriter, rapper who has shown a variety of different flows, styles and creative energies in a very short time.Her debut release, 2018’s ‘Whack World’, was critically acclaimed in various circles worldwide.But few know that it was her love for Dr. Suess Books growing up that initially led her to start her rhyming skills and talents.She’s worked with the likes of Alicia Keys, and in 2020 was part of the Apple Holiday Commercial, ‘The Magic of Mini’, which also featured her new singles, ‘Peppers and Onions’ and ‘feels good’, which were released simultaneously with the commercial campaign. She’s currently signed to Interscope Records.
