TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- They're coming at her from all sides lately.
- Ice has always given the impression that she's down for some competition. Now it's time to show and prove.
- Knowing that Ice Spice isn't exactly known for her lyricism, it'll be interesting to see how she performs in a war of words.
- Times change. Folks need to just try to enjoy it or mind their business.
- There's a time and a place for everything. And this wasn't it.
- Cut her some slack. She's still a relatively new artist who hasn't had a lot of time or experience to develop her craft -- especially her stage presence.
It’s been a busy week for Ice Spice, despite losing out on the Best New Artist award at the Grammys.
The Bronx rapper performed at the annual Clive Davis Gala the night before. The star-studded event featured performers like Dionne Warwick, Public Enemy, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Keyshia Cole, Andra Day, the Isley Brothers, and Victoria Monet with a star-studded audience including names like Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, and Cher. Ice has been getting dragged for the performance, with folks saying she failed to read the room.
Here's what people are saying:
- This is why I don’t think Ice Spice has the same star and staying power as a Megan or a Cardi B
- I’ve given more inspired performances doing karaoke alone in my house.
- The thing about that Ice Spice/Clive Davis video that’s so funny is that it proves everyone’s point — she’s a one trick pony. We’ve seen all the other girl’s go from twerking for one audience and completely modify the routine for the next. She didn’t even try.
- I have second hand embarrassment from Ice Spice performing at Clive Davis annual #Grammy party! Knowing that this is a Whitney Houston, Faith Evans and more type of event, this is trash!
In other Ice Spice news, she seems to be embroiled in a feud with Latto. Ice confirmed that her latest track, “You Think You The [Ish] (Fart)” is a diss, released after she realized the Memphis rapper has been acting shady on social media.
Meanwhile, Latto pulled up to Ice’s borough over the weekend while in town for Saturday Night Live, shooting a video in the Bronx.
