This is a huge tragedy. Its magnitude increases every time another body is pulled from the rubble.
It would be nice to get some good news out of this situation, but it's not likely to happen at this point.
The only silver lining here is that perhaps we'll take a closer look at examining structures to avoid such catastrophes in the future.
The death toll in the Miami-area condo collapse has climbed to 28 after four more bodies were found in the rubble on Monday.
This came after the remaining part of the structure was brought down with explosive on Sunday, which allowed rescuers to continue their work searching for the missing.
Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said demolishing the other part of the building opening up an area to rescuers that was previously been unreachable. She added, "We understand that families realize the fact that time has gone by, they realize that the chances are growing all dimmer. They are with us, they know what we’ve been doing every step of the way." (The Guardian)
