Birdman Blew Off Court Date and Has to Pay Former Employee

There is no way I am going to miss court if someone is suing me for a grip. That's what happened to Birdman. He now has to pony up about $1 million to a former employee. According to The Blast, Nicholas Jose Penzo sued Birdman back in 2018 because Penzo said he worked on Birdman's property for about two years. He said Birdman was to pay him about $150 a day to paint, handle cleaning services and even coordinate with contractors to fix things on the property. On top of that, Pezno said he did a lot of overtime hours and never got paid for those hours. But what's crazy is that Penzo was trying to get at least $23,900 in damages but came up on that $1 million all because Penzo recently went back to court seeking a default judgment. When looking back into things, Penzo said sometimes when he was paid by check, the bank would return the checks for insufficient funds and Penzo believes he should have gotten more. Even after Penzo served Birdman legal papers, the rapper didn't show up to court. Well, a judge agreed with Penzo so now Birdman has to pay up.
