Meek Mill Gets His Wish for New Court Hearing and New Judge

It seems to be a happier day for Meek Mill. For a while, he and his lawyers have been requesting a new court hearing and trying to avoid having Judge Genece Brinkley. They feel the judge was very biased in Meek's case. Well, things have turned a corner and Meek will be getting a new hearing with a new judge, according to Complex. Meek has been granted an appellate court hearing in Philly with the Superior Court, and that’s going to take place on July 16th. Meek’s lawyers will now have the chance to ask the PA Superior Court to overturn the rapper’s original conviction, and not Judge Brinkley. Remember last year, it was discovered that the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office put together a secret list of corrupt cops and one of the cops on the list was one who arrested Meek back in 2007. Even though that cop said something under oath and Meek denied selling drugs and pointing a gun at police, even the cop's colleague's story matched Meek. You would think the judge would look into that but Brinkley still denied Meek's attempt to get a new trial.
