Central Park 5's Linda Fairstein Resigned From Non-Profit Organization

Well that was quick. After the release of Netflix's When They See Us, staffers of a non-profit organization, Safe Horizon, wanted Linda Fairstein to bounce. She was on the board of directors, but also the Manhattan D.A.'s Sex Crimes Unit in 1989, where the Central Park 5 boys were convicted. It was a situation where she helped coerce innocent kids and had them wrongfully prosecuted. She worked with Safe Horizon for close to 20 years and was facing some backlash from the organization's staffers. They wanted her gone. According to TMZ, Fairstein has resigned from her position. Apparently, a part of her letter said she wanted to avoid becoming a "lightning rod to inflict damage on this organization." But then she said the CEO of the organization declined to meet with her to learn truths behind how she was depicted in the movie. I don't think the organization cares how she was depicted, rather how she handled the teens case back then, now working for an organization that aids victims of abuse and violent crime.
