Fat Joe called on all of his homies in the Hip-Hop community to celebrate an epic milestone in his legendary career.
The Bronx native pulled up to the Apollo Theater in Harlem on Tuesday night, April 2, and hit the stage for his "Fat Joe & Friends" show. The all-star event featured performances from OG's like Melle Mel, CL Smooth, Keith Sweat and Peter Gunz to legends like Havoc of Mobb Deep, Lil' Kim and The LOX. There were plenty of performances from special guests including Dipset, State Property, Memphis Bleek, Tony Sunshine, Ashanti and Remy Ma, who pulled up to perform her and Joe's most revered collaboration "Lean Back."
The show was held in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Terror Squad's breakthrough single "Lean Back." The stand-out song from their True Story album dropped on June 1, 2004 and it quickly became a summer anthem. The TS crew also debuted the now-infamous dance inspired by the Scott Storch-produced hit in the official music video. After the song topped the charts, Joe dropped the remix featuring Lil Jon, Ma$e and Eminem.
Joe first announced the show last month. In the weeks leading up to the show, the multifaceted artist only confirmed Remy, Dipset and The LOX on the flyer, but there were plenty more of his friends in the building. Much like the cameo-filled "Lean Back" video, Joe's show's at The Apollo also had plenty of special guest appearances from Angie Martinez, Mary J. Blige, N.O.R.E., Ted Smooth, Keni Burke, Mr. Cheeks, M.O.P, DITC's Diamond D and more.
