Nafessa Williams was born on December 4th, 1989 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She studied at West Chester University of Pennsylvania and although she is originally from Philly she took her acting talents to Los Angeles where she now resides. Nafessa is a film and television actress most well-known for her portrayal of Deanna Forbes in 2011 on the popular soap opera ‘One Life to Live.’ Some of her films have included “Burning Sands and Twin Peaks. Arguably, her most popular role was on the CW’s ‘Black Lightning’ TV show, where she assumed the role of a lesbian superhero named Anissa, who was the daughter of the lead character, and portrayed as a strong and confident woman who eventually comes out.
