Philly’s Power 99 is celebrating Black History Month by shouting out some of our favorite sons and daughters throughout the month of February with The Power List. Some of the biggest names in the world of music, entertainment, politics and the arts that hail from Philly or the surrounding Tri-State area.
FEBRUARY 1, 2022:
Kevin Hart is an actor, comedian, writer and producer, who was born and raised in Philadelphia. Hart started his career by entering and winning amateur comedy competitions at clubs throughout the tri-state leading to his first big break in 2001, when he was cast by Judd Apatow for a recurring role on the TV series Undeclared. In addition to his comedy career, Kevin Hart has been featured in hit movies like Jumanji: The Next Level and Night School, and in 2017 had a mural dedicated in his honor on the outside wall of Max’s Cheesesteaks. Kevin has set an amazing example for his community and is currently in the midst of a multi million dollar production deal with his production company and the media giant NETFLIX. The Philadelphia based dramedy, “True Story”, stars he and Wesley Snipes and is currently airing as his lead project.
