J. Cole Makes His Professional Basketball Debut With African Team

Some of you may have thought it was a game when you heard J. Cole would use his basketball skills and go professional. Didn't the Pistons offer Cole a spot on the team? Well, he did take a spot on someone's team. He signed on with the Rwandan Patriots, in Africa! The rapper made his basketball debut over the weekend, basically, after releasing his album, "The Off Season." Now before you go thinking, how did he do that? TMZ said J. Cole signed a brief three-to-six game contract with the Rwanda Patriots Basketball Club, which is part of the Basketball Africa League. And don't get it twisted, J. Cole played basketball in high school and did a walk-on thing for college before quitting to pursue his rap career. His team played against Nigeria's Rivers Hoopers and the game was broadcast on national television here in the States. By the way, Cole's team beat the Hoopers, with Cole getting about 3 points.
