People are definitely sensitive these days. But I have to admit, I was rather shocked to see Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's WAP performance during the Grammys. All I kept thinking was that the performance was definitely risky. But the ladies did their thing, with a lot of gyrating and twerking. Well, all of that made a group very uncomfortable. According to The Wrap, the National Center on Sexual Exploitation called out Cardi and Megan and said their performance was glorifying prostitution. Wait, what? The Senior VP of that group, Dawn Hawkins said CBS shouldn't have allowed the performance to happen and said it was basically hardcore porn. Clearly, they've never seen hardcore porn. Now, to their opinion, they released a statement saying, "Prostitution and stripping are never empowering for women, as they set up systems that exploit and oppress women." But wait, stripping can be empowering for women. Have you ever taken a strip tease class? It is empowering! But how did they get prostitution from that performance? I can see if they said it was raunchy and reminded people of strip clubs with the dancing, but prostitution? Look, people are in their feelings a whole lot lately but we are sure that's not why the ratings were down for the Grammys.
