Meek Mill, Jay-Z And Reform Alliance Make Change in California

Meek Mill has something to be proud about. The REFORM Alliance, the criminal justice reform organization scored a big win in California. The organization was launched by Jay-Z, Meek Mill and Michael Rubin and others, to help out people when it comes down to probation. Remember, Meek was basically put through hell with his decade-long probation. According to TMZ, they got the California Governor Gavin Newsom to sign a new bill into law. The new law will limit adult probation sentences to a maximum of 1 year for misdemeanor, and 2 years for felony offenses. The theory is that it will greatly reduce probation violations. REFORM campaigned hard for the bill, generating more than 3,000 emails to Newsom's desk. This is definitely a start and a win for the REFORM Alliance.
