The first memorial service for George Floydwill be held this afternoon in Minneapolis and is expected to be attended by hundreds.
The 1:00 service will be held at North Central University and led by Reverend Al Sharpton who will eulogize Floyd and also call for new federal legislation to end racial injustice. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who is representing the Floyd family, will also speak. The service will be broadcast and live-streamed by several networks.
Today's service is the first of three that are being held. The next will be on Saturday in Raeford, North Carolina and then the funeral on Tuesday in Houston. (Deadline)
