Swizz Beatz confirmed Verzuz's return after regaining control with Timbaland. The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards aired on Tuesday (October 10), honoring both producers with the Rock The Bells Cultural Influence Award. In their acceptance speech, they announced their joint effort will be back in action. The mega-producers regained control of the platform and promised that Verzuz wasn’t just for the pandemic but “for the world.” Swizz Beatz and Timbaland merged Verzuz with Triller, becoming large shareholders in 2021. Trouble arose when they filed a $28 million lawsuit in August 2022. Triller defaulted on its agreement. Swizz and Timbaland settled the dispute.
