During a recent interview, Irv Gotti revealed an alleged cause of death for DMX. He said, "They said it was a bad dose of crack, and they said some drug Fentanyl was mixed in with the crack, and that’s what made him overdose." He added, "When when he got to the hospital, he got diagnosed with COVID, and he couldn’t breathe — you know that COVID messes with your respiratory system — so that’s why he had to get hooked up to the ventilator. But they said before he did, they was, ‘His brain died.'" He also shares that he is at peace with DMX's passing. "He said, " I just feel like he’s up there, he’s at peace, and he’s not fighting no demons no more, and he’s in a better place. When I die, I’ll see my man again." In a statement issued on his Instagram page, Irv admitted he was only repeating what he read on gossip blogs. He hadn’t confirmed the information before repeating and spreading it publicly.
