- Waka Flocka came to the defense of his step-daughter, Charlie, who revealed on their WEtv show,Waka & Tammy: What The Flocka,that she wanted to invite her “girlfriend” to her quinceanera.
- During the interview portion of the show, Waka said he supported his daughter’s decision to bring her girlfriend to the coming-of-age party and that she is living her “truth.”
- Waka’s stance drew criticism from comedian and LGBTQ representative Zoie Fenty, who called out Waka’s past LGBTQ comments on social media. Waka’s wife, Tammy Rivera clapped back saying people grow once they learn more about a subject.
- "What I'm gonna say is I'm gonna support my daughter. Y'all stop running with this narrative that she coming [sic] out 'cause she ain't never hiding from nothing. She not [sic] no face, no spokesman, no nothing. She living her f*cking life, man,”Waka stated in a video on social media. He then called out “2021 parents” who talk about their children on social media.
