Twice as Many White People have been Vaccinated than Blacks, Latinos

  • White people who have been vaccinated in the United States outnumber Blacks and Latinos two-to-one.
  • That’s according to a CNN analysis of 14 states, which found twice as many White people have received at least one shot since vaccine became available. Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith, chair of President Joe Biden's COVID-19 equity task force, says she sees “a similar pattern already emerging across the country."
  • However, most experts don’t blame the lop-sided figure on racism; studies show Blacks and Latinos are more leery of the vaccine’s side effects.
