Issa Rae Says Issa ‘No’ About Insecure Becoming One Hour

Issa Rae let it be known that Insecure will never be a one hour show-periodt! She said Black Twitter puts in a lot of commentary about the show to her and she has mixed feelings about that “We sold a half-hour comedy and I literally have no desire to make an hour show!,” Issa Rae said. “Even hearing people say: ‘This is how you can make it an hour, you can do this, you can do that…’ OK, well we don’t want to!” “It is a compliment and a burden that people take so much ownership over the show because there aren’t a lot of shows about us, so people feel like you have to tell all the stories that can be told, and if you don’t you’re failing us.”
