Kodak Black Suing Prison for Denying Him Access to Rabbi
Kodak Black is suing the prison facility he is in for denying him his right to practice his religion.
While in prison Kodak became a Black Hebrew Israelite.
He changed his name to Bill Kahen Blanco. His middle name is an alternative spelling of 'Kohen.' Kohen means Jewish priest.
He is suing the prison because they will not let him consult with a Rabbi.
While in-person visits with spiritual leaders were placed on hold due to COVID-19, it is unclear if phone consultations with spiritual leaders are also on hold.
He would be suing under the First Amendment right to practice religion.
