Over 40 current and former New York Chipotle employees complained about food safety in a new report to Business Insider. The employees say they were incentivized with bonuses that cut corners on cleanliness and food safety. They reported that Chipotle has a "highly pressurized environment" and encourages goals like âminimizing labor costs.â There were also reports that Chipotle managers were put on notice when an inspection would happen so they could prepare for it, however, any other time cleanliness standards were lax. Chipotle released a statement to Delish saying they are committed to a safe food and work environment and those employee incentives encourage even more adherents to company policies.Â
