Felipe Vázquez, a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, was taken into custody on Tuesday after he allegedly had a sexual relationship with a minor via text messaging. Vazquez, 28, came under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in August after agents “obtained information” that he was having a sexual relationship with the now-15-year-old Lee County victim, beginning when she was 13.The left-handed pitcher allegedly sent the victim a video in July “in which he is shown performing a sex act” and texted her suggesting they meet for sex after the baseball season was over, according to a statement from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement obtained by the Daily News. Officials were able to match the tattoos pictured in the photographs and videos to Vazquez, even though his face was not depicted in the images, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by The News. Agents seized several electronic devices from Vazquez’s apartment after serving a search warrant Tuesday.
