‘American Gangster’ Frank Lucas Passes Away At 88

Frank Lucas, the Harlem drug kingpin immortalized in 'American Gangster,' has died at the age of 88. Lucas passed away on Thursday, as confirmed by his nephew, Aldwan Lassiter, who revealed to The Rolling Stone that his uncle’s death was of natural causes. According to Source, Lucas was known for his lucrative heroin operation that ruled Harlem in the 1960s and 70s. His story was detailed to bring drugs straight into America from Southeast Asia by using the coffins of servicemen who died. In an interview, Lucas claimed he was able to put six to eight kilos in each coffin, a figure that has become questioned over time. The drugs carried the street name of “Blue Magic.” Frank is survived by his 7 children. My condolences to the Lucas family.
