Issa Rae is working on a New Line’s 1996 Set It Off remake which starred Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox, and Kimberly Elise. According to THR, Rae will produce the new project with an eye to star. Producing with her will be Montrel McKay, Rae's partner at Issa Rae Productions.Syreeta Singleton (Black Monday)and Nina Gloster (Star) have been hired to pen the script. Issa, who co-created and stars in HBO’s hit comedy “Insecure,” is not only producer on the project but also slated to be a movie lead.
