JAY-Z is teaming up with Meek Mill to help launch an organization dedicated to criminal justice reform called REFORM Alliance. 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin and the two rappers joined with New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Brooklyn Nets co-owner Clara Wu Tsai, and other high-profile business leaders at a news conference in New York on Wednesday launching the alliance and announcing CNN host Van Jones will serve as CEO. “The mission of the REFORM Alliance is to dramatically reduce the number of people who are unjustly under the control of the criminal justice system, starting with probation and parole,” reads a tweet from REFORM. “To win, we will leverage our considerable resources to change laws, policies, hearts & minds.” Sixers co-owner Michael Rubin said the group is dedicating $50 million to the effort.
