Kim Kardashian covers the March 2018 issue of Vogue India, and a lot of fans are up in arms over it. Readers were not only angered by Kim's choice of outfit - labelling it 'tragic' - they also questioned the magazine's decision to feature the star on the cover rather than an Indian woman. This isn’t the first time the fashion magazine has faced backlash over the famous family. Back in May 2017, Vogue India received similar criticism when they chose Kardashian’s younger sister Kendall Jenner to grace its cover.
"No shade on the Kardashians," one user tweeted. "But like y’all seriously couldn’t find an INDIAN for the cover? First Kendall & now Kim?"
"I have nothing against Kim Kardashian but @VOGUEIndia is really doing itself a disservice by continually neglecting to portrait brown women in their 'magazine,'" someone else remarked. "You’re perpetuating a detrimental cycle of underrepresentation. Stop white washing your own damn culture."
