Philando Castile‘s father, who is serving a life sentence in federal prison, is fighting for a part of the $3 million settlement for the fatal shooting of his son. “I was totally blindsided by Valerie Castile’s lack of compassion for both me and her own daughter, Alysza, and the decision to award herself the entire settlement,” Frazier wrote from a federal penitentiary in Greenville, Ill. Philando Castile was shot July 6, 2016 by former St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez during a traffic stop. His girlfriend live-streamed the aftermath of the fatal encounter.
