Brooklyn Mom Banned from Son's Charter School for Saying 'Bad' Word

Success Academy of Cobble Hill is the largest charter school in the New York City borough. One mom got into a scuffle with the school after she made an off-hand comment that sent the school principal on a rampage. The mom says she's 'disgusted' by the whole situation because all she did was say the word 'damn'. Latasha Battle and a group of parents showed up at the school one rainy morning with their kids, and they had to wait outside in the downpour until 7:35 sharp. That's the official time the school opens. Battle felt that they could have made an exception in the rain. When the doors opened, she said, "It’s a damn shame the school made these kids stand in the pouring rain."Principal Brittany Davis-Roberti got wind of the comments, and sent Battle a harsh letter, chastising the mother for her choice of words. She concluded the letter with telling Battle she was banned from school grounds "until you schedule an appointment with me to apologize for your behavior and pledge that it will never happen again."
