A Bronx intersection has been renamed in honor of the late Kalief Browder, the corner of E. 181st St. and Prospect Ave. was named “Kalief Browder Way.” Browder, who would have celebrated his 24th birthday Thursday, hanged himself in June 2015 in his family’s Bronx home, after spending three horrific years in Rikers. Browder was just 16 when he was jailed after a teen accused him of robbing him of his backpack in May 2010.
