Philly’s Power 99 is celebrating Black History Month by shouting out some of our favorite sons and daughters throughout the month of February with The Power List. Some of the biggest names in the world of music, entertainment, politics and the arts that hail from Philly or the surrounding Tri-State area.

Symere Woods, known professionally as Lil Uzi Vert, is a hip-hop recording artist based in Philadelphia. He gained recognition after releasing his debut single, “Money Longer” and several mixtapes, including Luv Is Rage which was released on October 30, 2015and The Perfect Luv Tape. He has also collaborated with Migos on the hit single "Bad and Boujee," which landed on Billboard's Hot 100. In 2017, Lil Uzi Vert released his debut studio album, Luv Is Rage 2, which reached number one on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. His latest project, ‘Eternal Atake’ was released in the summer of 2020, and it too reached Number One on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart.
