We have some updates surrounding Rich Homie Quan in the days following his sudden death.
The 33-year-old rapper passed away last Thursday, of a suspected overdose. An autopsy was performed the following day, though the results are yet to be publicly revealed. Since then, the 911 call made by Lamar’s girlfriend, Amber Williams, has surfaced. When playing the heartbreaking audio, listeners can hear Williams tell dispatchers that she found his body on a couch after dropping their son off at school.
Quan’s father, Corey Lamar, mourned the loss of his son by paying tribute on social media. He wrote, “Unbearable pain… Lord please please please help me to understand this … let this be a dream… Yall pray for me and my family… I feel like I’m crushed into a million pieces.” In an interview, he remembered his son as a trendsetter, telling WSB-TV, “I used to tell him that it’s a difference in making songs and making hits. He made hits and I know that his music will live on forever.”
Quan’s girlfriend, Amber Williams, wrote, “This pain is unbearable… I’m traumatized from a moment that’ll forever be in my head. I have nothing to prove because my love for my other half was ALWAYS shown. I had nothing to hide. Please respect me and the family at this time. Our house is no longer a home. I’m completely heartbroken. 15 years gone. I’ll never be the same. This is a complete nightmare.”
