Here's a roundup of Wednesday's headlines about the protests around the country.

Secretary of Defense Mark Esper does not support using the Insurrection Act to send active-duty troops into cities to quell rioting. He says it "should only be used as a matter of last resort and only in the most urgent and dire situations." (Politico)

Six Atlanta police officers are facing charges including assault, battery and criminal damage to property after avideoshowed them assaulting two college students who were trying to drive away from a protest as a 9:00 curfew went into effect. (CBS News)
