Maleficent: Mistress of Evil topped the box office list but fell below expectations. The Angelina Jolie sequel earned $36 million in its opening weekend, about half of what the first flick did in 2014.
After two weeks at number-one,Jokerslid to second with $29.2 million. That brings the comic book flick's domestic take to $247 million.
Zombieland 2: Double Tapopened in third with a better-than-expected $26.7 million.
The Addams Family dropped from second to fourth with $16.1 million. And Gemini Man, starringWill Smith, went from third to fifth with $8.5 million.
