C'mon Philly: 14 Year Old Boy Killed, 3 Other Boys Shot in North Philly
We have got to do better.
This type of stuff is going on damn near everyday in our city...
A 14-year-old boy has died and four other people, including an 11-year-old boy, were injured in an overnight shooting in North Philadelphia.
Victims and neighbors tell investigators they saw two people open fire around midnight Tuesday on the 2100 block of North Fourth Street.
“Based on ballistic evidence, we know that the shots were fired from the north side of the 2100 block of Fourth Street,” said Small.
Police say the victims include a 14-year-old boy who was shot in the head, another 14-year-old boy, an 11-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy. A 24-year-old man was also shot by a stray bullet.
The 14-year-old boy was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital where he later died. The other four victims are in stable condition and are expected to survive.
Investigators say the kids were sitting outside the home when the two suspects, across the street, fired at least 21 shots.
Police say they believe the children were the intended targets. However, the motive for the shooting remains unclear.
The victims and neighbors tell police they recognized one of the two shooters. Police believe that suspect could be as young as 15 years old.
“Police are already talking to the family members of that individual. So it appears, if that is the right name, we will more than likely will be able to make an arrest soon, if that is the right name,” said Small. -(CBS Philly)
